The first Mac OS X update since Snow Leopard has now been released. The update consists primarily of bug fixes, as did the developer builds released over the couple of weeks.
The 10.6.1 also updates Flash to the latest version, 10.0.32.18. Snow Leopard installed an older version of Flash, 10.0.23.1, even if the user previously had a newer version on his system. That older version of Flash was vulnerable to exploits that had since been patched in later versions and users had to manually update to ensure that their computers were not vulnerable.
A complete list of the changes made by the patch can be found on Apple’s website. If you have not been prompted to update, you can run Software Update manually to get the update.
